We offer the following kinds of workshops:
Workshops linked to our shows
We are always happy to chat through what you are looking for so we can tailor a workshop to you needs, whether it be about content, style or a particular aspect of theatre making. We offer good value for money, only ever seeking to cover our costs. We can offer these to schools, community groups and theatre outreach programmes.
Workshops about playwriting
We know a lot about playwriting. We've been working with writers for many years. We commission plays, read plays, workshop plays, edit plays, produce plays, tour plays, publish plays. . . we really love plays. We can do an introductory session for new writers, or a more detailed session on structure or character or plotting for a more experienced group. Just let us know what you're most wanting to explore.
A few times a year we run in depth workshops for anyone interested in playwriting. The workshop looks at creating characters, structuring story and how to begin - and end - your play. Friendly, informal, and packed with tips, advice and writing exercises. Places are limited and cost just £50 per person. Email email@example.com or call 01584 856564 to register your interest now.
What people say about our workshops
‘I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you (and Elizabeth!) for providing a workshop for year 10. They thoroughly enjoyed the session, appreciating the time out of 'normal' lessons to do something creative. They thought it was well-structured and found the visual stimulus really helpful in generating their own ideas. The only thing they grumbled about was the fact that it wasn't longer! I think this says a lot about the value they placed on it, considering as they're usually desperate to get out of there!’

Attended a brilliant character workshop with Pentabus yesterday followed by their touching performance of Tim Price's For Once

The playwrighting workshop was fantastic. In depth stuff about structure and examining the mechanics of how plays are made. I can't wait to get writing.
