Phil Ormrod is a writer and theatre maker who has trained at LAMDA and National Theatre Studio. He's made and performed in work all over the country, at theatres of all sizes including his show Journey to the end of the world at Preston bus station.
This week Pentabus have proudly welcomed Phil from his city life in London to spend three days on our farm, discussing and meeting people in the area.
Phil Ormrod
"I've just spent a brilliant three days hanging out on the farm with Pentabus.
We've been thinking about market towns: what it's like to live in one, and what their future is. We've met vicars in pubs, survivalists in homeware shops and the curators of a Museum of Nostalgia. We've talked about sin eaters, the importance of beating the railway system, and what might be the archaeological remains of our own lives. We've wondered how to turn the inside of a village hall into a row of hilltops, or the River Styx.
It's the kind of opportunity that's incredibly precious: getting away from everyday life to hang out with brilliant people and bash your ideas about. Out in the open air, and the improbably beautiful countryside, it makes being a writer feel like a luxury job. I can't wait to come back!"
