Connor Elliman
Connor Elliman is a movement artist who creates shared, body-centered experiences that bring communities together.
He has worked with arts organisations across the UK, including Blaze Arts, Movema, Restoke, Motionhouse and Cheshire Dance. As well as facilitating and directing community projects, he has worked as an Arts Officer for a Local Authority, and as a creative producer on projects. He has an Undergraduate Degree in Performing Arts, and a Postgraduate Degree in Dance (both received from the University of Chester). Connor has received funding from ACE’s Arts Project Grants for ‘The Dawning’, as well as from The Dance Consortia Northwest for ‘Baggage’. Connor was a creative producer and choreographer on Cheshire Dance’s ‘Salt Stories,’ a community dance film that premiered at NOW Northwich. Recently, he was the movement director on Restoke’s Ride or Die, as part of National Theatre’s Connections. He has also worked as a guest lecturer in performing arts at the University of Chester and Liverpool Hope University. In addition to performance, Connor has worked on creative social history projects with LGTBQ+ youth. He developed ‘Queer Histories’ alongside Chester Pride and produced Queertopia, a social history project with Warwickshire Pride’s youth group (highly commended at the ‘Inclusive Impact’ award at Power of Place: Midlands). The project involved creating a zine, and a display at Leamington Spa Art Gallery and Museum.
