Balisha Karra is currently Creative Lead at Belgrade Theatre and Director in Residence at The Old Vic. Working with
organisations such as Kali Theatre and Tamasha, she has developed a strong network of creatives of South Asian
heritage, working towards a more open and inclusive theatre culture. As well as collaborating with Corey Campbell as
Assistant Director on the award-winning Freeman, she has also developed an understanding of the Midlands’ diverse
communities through her directing and producing work with Birmingham Repertory Theatre and BE Festival. Other
credits include 17 by Frankie Meredith and assisting Emma Rice on her production Wise Children.
