“Brilliant, gorgeous music.”
Bob Harris, BBC Radio 2
His original songs are both relatable and lyrically rich, and they draw attention to the immediacy of the present moment. His lilting vocal style cradles the ear of the listener, and provides audiences with an sense of intimacy and home.
John also plays double bass with Jane Taylor Band.
John has been composer and musical director for theatre and storytelling shows including The Girl That Became a Boy (dir. Jo Blake) and To Have and to Hold (dir. Adam Fuller). He has also been lead performer and soloist in Jennifer Bell Company's acclaimed a-cappella song cycles In a Town (Bristol Proms) and Mouthpiece (as part of Parliament's 800th Anniversaries).
