Mark Down
Mark Down is the co-artistic director of Blind Summit Theatre, which he founded in 1997 with Nick Barnes. He trained as an actor at Central School of Speech and Drama. Performance credits include: On Emotion, Tramping the Boards, Pirate Puppetry, Low Life, Madam Butterfly (ENO, LNOBT, Metropolitan Opera); Real Man, An Odde Angel, The Spaceman and Eastenders.
Director credits include: Low Life, Pirate Puppetry, Real Man, Mr China’s Son, Martin’s Wedding.
Director of puppetry credits include: His Dark Materials (Birmingham Rep & West Yorkshire Playhouse); Faeries (ROH2); Shun-kin by (Complicite, Barbican Theatre, Setagaya Theatre); Madam Butterfly (ENO, LNOBT, Met Opera); Black River Falls, The Time Step, Cherevichki (Garsington Opera); Killing Time (BAC); A Puppet in the Works (BAC); A Dulditch Angel (Eastern Angles) and Falstaff (Stanley Hall Opera).
He is a visiting lecturer at Central School of Speech and Drama and East 15.
