Jonny Donahoe
Every Brilliant Thing is performed and co-written by Jonny Donahoe.
Best known as a star of the contemporary comedy scene, he is frontman and lead writer of musical comedy act Jonny & the Baptists, nominated for five major awards including the 2013 Musical Comedy Awards and 2014 British Comedy Awards.
They have been commissioned to create work for BBC Radio 4, BBC television and have been featured on The Now Show (Radio 4), The Gadget Show (Channel 5), The Infinite Monkey Cage (Radio 4), Fresh from the Fringe (BBC TV/Radio 4) and Sketchorama (Radio 4). They were commissioned to write and perform at the National Theatre and on a UK tour as part of Mark Thomas’s 100 Acts of Minor Dissent. One of the songs they wrote for this was subsequently recorded and released as a UK single.
Jonny’s acting credits include: Real Horror Show (Leicester Square Theatre & UK tour); short films for Funny Or Die, and the Dawson Brothers’ hit YouTube series That Meeting (Hat Trick).
He has also worked as a writer and performer in development workshops with leading international theatre companies including Les Enfants Terribles, Soho Theatre and The Old Vic. Jonny is an actor, storyteller, comedian, and musician.
