After a short career in the music industry, Neil took a break to assist the sound on a production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 1990 and has been working with sound in drama theatre ever since. After honing his craft designing the sound for a wide variety of productions on London’s fringe, he became a full-time employee at the Royal Court Theatre in 1994. Invited to become a member of the sound department at the National Theatre in 1997, he has subsequently operated and designed sound for a diverse range of productions on stages in London’s West End and across the UK; on Broadway and internationally.

In 2011 Neil won the OffWestEnd.com Best Sound Design Award for his work on Snake In The Grass at London’s Print Room.
